Abstract

The presence of rare and little-known species Xerasia meschniggi (Reitter, 1905) (Coleoptera: Byturidae) from fruitworm beetle family in the Northwestern Caucasus (Russia, Krasnodar Krai) based on contemporary find is confirmed. Previously this species was collected from Russia in the early 20th century in the territory of present-day Krasnodar City. It is proposed to include X. meschniggi in the next edition of the Red Data Book of the Krasnodar Krai.
