Abstract

The maintenance of the Red Book includes the collection and analysis of information about the fauna of a particular region. These data make it possible to ensure the implementation of the necessary conservation measures, as well as to make changes to the "red list", clarifying the status of individual species. Within three years after the publication of the second edition of the Red Book of the Belgorod Region, faunistic researches were carried out in different parts of the Belgorod Region. The aim of the research was to collect information about rare and endangered species of invertebrates and vertebrates animals. During this time, data on encounters in different parts of the region of 70 species from the main list and 9 species that require attention to the condition of their populations have been accumulated. Additionally, information is provided on 6 species that should be included in the Red Book of the Belgorod Region.
